Fostering cultural and natural heritage today makes a gift to tomorrow. Share with us your practice and experience on how to better involve people in creating a more comfortable and inspiring cultural and natural environment! We want to celebrate the people of your community that inspire conservation of places, and those whose life or work is dedicated to historical places and natural habitats. By gathering these stories of hands-on experiences of local communities, we want to create a co-learning platform about the applied practices of heritage conservation. Whether small or large, happy or sad, known or underrepresented, every story has value and can aid in heritage protection.

Selected videos will be featured in:

  • the the conference website (with credits to the creators);

  • the OurWorldHeritage Heritage Archive.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

People, schools, local businesses and local heritage organisations… Everyone is welcome to participate!! By participating, you agree to redistribute (parts of) your submission through OurWorldHeritage social media channels. OurWorldHeritage will always attribute your video with your name and tags. 

FORMAT

  • You can use the camera of a smartphone;

  • The video should not be longer than 3 min. Movies longer than 30 sec. should be filmed in landscape mode;

  • You can use the free mobile app YouCut (Android, Apple, not sponsored) to edit your or add music or voice overs;

  • English or French subtitles are very much appreciated but not obligatory;

  • Please ensure proper lighting (no backlighting) and avoid background noise/wind/music;

  • We only accept videos about a locality, it should respect all people and animals, and should not contain any commercial promotion.

HOW TO SUBMIT?

International Seminar on Heritage Interpretation and Presentationfor Future Generations:

1- Post the video through your YouTube, Facebook or Instagram account before June 1st 2023. If you do not possess a social media account, you can send (a link of) the video to secretariat [@] ourworldheritage.org;

2- Add a (max) 200 words description of the heritage sites and subject issue;

3- Tag @ourworldheritage50, #warheritage

4- To confirm, please fill in the questionnaire below.
